We have made the decision to complete the new vineyard by planting about 2500 new grape plants. We have been putting in the infra structure with poles, wire and the irrigation system. We have pruned the vines and are rooting cuttings for use with the new plantings.
Most of the garden will be planted by late May. Snap peas are being planted now, along with onions, potatoes and other early season vegetables.
We're hoping for warm weather so we can have fruit from our orchard. Last year we suffered a late spring freeze that killed all the fruit blossoms. Thus no fruit.
Every year we try something new. This year it will be Valencia Peanuts. While not always successful it is fun to experiment.
